Pupa is our first attempt to change the way we produce wooden furniture by combining traditional handcrafted procedures with the use of woodworking equipment. The teak wood base of Pupa is manufactured by our carpenter’s skill set and then fused with an aluminum back that is totally cut using CNC machines. The metal back members are made to be kits of components for metal fabricators, which makes the back assembly incredibly simple, quick, and precise. The brass cap gives it character, and the thin metal plate lends its structure a unique lightness.
