About Us
Thumbimpressions is a multidisciplinary and collaborative design studio established in 2013. Currently, thumbimpressions is led by four partners.
We firm that architecture is a collective work. Our collaborative practice comprises a group of committed people who are socially, environmentally, and economically conscious. We are a group of ‘makers’ who specialize in the art and craft of putting things together. Our team includes architects, engineers, and designers. Our office is based in Surat and Hyderabad.
Our primary work areas include architectural design, furniture design, and building construction in natural materials and technologies. Our approach is to reveal the poetics of architecture through a lighter, gentler, softer, and robust handling of material, structure, and form.
Our project spans in different cities of India: Ahmedabad, Surat, Mulugu, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kota, Kishanganj. Some of the noted projects include Yogashaala, Project Potential, Dhum Residence, and Flying Roof Restaurant.
Through our work, we aim to bridge the gap between functionality and aesthetics, believing that good design should not only be visually pleasing but also serve a purpose. Our diverse team brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences to the table. This diversity allows us to approach projects from multiple perspectives, ensuring that our solutions are comprehensive and inclusive. As a practice, we value collaboration and believe that the best ideas are often born out of collective brainstorming and open dialogue.

Design
We firmly believe that architecture serves as a catalyst, transforming imagination into functional reality. Our team of ‘makers’ works closely with clients, understanding their needs and conceiving buildings that are; contextually rooted, climatically responsive, materially sensitive, and socially impactful.
Build
We offer comprehensive design and execution services for ecological Bamboo, Earth, and Lime based construction. Our highly skilled team passionately engages in understanding and realizing the potential of these materials through various hands-on experiments and explorations of structure, form, and material.
Furniture
