Located near Nal-Sarovar, the residence responds to its landscape and the client’s interest in birdwatching through a vertically rising form that culminates in a dedicated viewing deck. From a distance, the tower becomes the defining element, creating a sense of curiosity as the house gradually reveals itself.
The site is divided by a central road, separating the residence from a landscaped open zone with a waterbody and recreational spaces. Public areas are placed towards the entrance, while private spaces are positioned deeper within the site for greater visual privacy. Openings and verandahs respond to the local wind and rainfall patterns.
The project explores how a rich architectural expression can emerge through simple, natural and locally available materials rather than conventional finishes. Exposed brick laid in lime mortar, locally sourced wood, Rohtak domes and jack arches reduce dependence on concrete and high-embodied-energy materials, while varied brick sizes are explored to create feature walls and patterns.
